Pastels found me in 2025, and I was immediately drawn to their tactile immediacy and luminous color. They allow me to capture quiet moments with softness and sensitivity.

These small emotive scenes let me explore mood and atmosphere in an intimate format. They often begin as quick impressions that evolve into fully realized pieces.

I began painting in oils in 2020 when I left the 9‑to‑5 world to pursue art full‑time. Oils give me the depth and atmosphere needed to express the quiet landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, allowing me to build layered, reflective scenes grounded in light and place.
